WITHOUT A PARTY: THE RISK OF BOLSONARO IN THE 2022 ELECTIONS
By Waltão Sintonizado
President only accepts to be part of a subtitle if he can be the bigwig and meets strong resistance. For specialists, the delay of the Chief Executive can increase the cost of the negotiation, with more demands for funds or indications to government agencies.
Faced with the frustration of not being able to create his own party, President Jair Bolsonaro no longer hides the possibility of joining an already existing political legend to run for re-election to the Planalto Palace next year.
The agent, however, has encountered difficulties in negotiations with some acronyms due to the requirement of wanting to be the big man of the associations. Already well structured, the parties are reluctant to give up everything they have built simply to accommodate the Chief Executive.
In the past few months, Bolsonaro has talked to leaders of at least seven legends: PL, Republicans, PTB, Patriota, PRTB, PP and PSL - his last party. He signaled to everyone that he would like to have the freedom to indicate names to command the acronym directories in the states, which would give him more power to define strategies aimed at the 2022 election, but, on the other hand, he was warned that the subtitles are not willing to make a decision so risky as this, that it would be able to change the identity and profile of the association.
"I can't wait to decide the party, but it's not my decision," Bolsonaro told supporters last week. At the time, the Chief Executive also complained that "no one wants to deliver the bone to us, they only want to deliver the ox's hoof, no bone with marrow wants to give it to us".
