COVID-19: PORTUGAL PRESENTS THE BIGGEST DAILY GROWTH OF INFECTIONS SINCE FEBRUARY


Portugal has counted 2,362 cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the biggest increase since mid-February, as authorities continued to fight to stop the spread of the more contagious delta variant.

Portugal, with a population of 10 million, faced its toughest battle against the coronavirus in January, but a recent increase in cases has brought daily numbers to levels last recorded in February, when the country was under a strict blockade.

The delta variant represents more than half of the cases in the country.
